CEREMONY

Being a Civil Celebrant is the most meaningful and deeply satisfying experience one could wish to explore. Every ceremony is a new artwork with new artists.
My faith and conviction in the process continues. I’ve witnessed that ceremony creates a transformation and that through the power of this change, those involved can rise above the inexplicable state of affairs that we as human beings on this earth find ourselves in, and touch a deeper feeling of shared humanity.
Sacred time and sacred space are chosen for a ceremony because it gives power to the ritual practice to be undertaken.{ritual comes from the Sanskrit ‘rita’ which refers to both art and order.
Ceremony as an‘artform’ provides organic order, a dynamic expression through which the energy of an event can reach its larger meaning.
Ceremony is used as a bridge and an entrance into a new state of awareness, celebrating the evolutionary process in our lives and those whom we care deeply for..
Experiencing a well-crafted ceremony sustains and shapes our emotional attitudes, provides us with life purposes and energizes us. It offers both meaning and momentum.
Let us create true ceremony, true meaning and celebrate all life.!
Regards, Caroline.

ABOUT CAROLINE

Caroline studied the history and development of ceremony through Monash University and The International College OF Celebrancy throughout 2001-2002. Becoming an authorised celebrant in 2003.
Caroline has a background in community theatre and children’s theatre, directing and producing short works with children of primary school age.

After living in rural Mailors Flat, western Victoria for 4 years she returned to Melbourne and her celebrant life began In earnest
She enjoys the variety of ceremonies she creates and the people she meets from all over the globe. Performing many international marriage ceremonies with strong cultural symbolism.

Caroline loves multicultural Victoria hence learning Spanish for her couples so that their parents feel welcome from Madrid. She has performed Greek, Jewish, African and Buddhist rituals for her couples so that they can integrate the rituals of their ancestors into a modern context of a secular ceremony.

Caroline was asked to speak at The Sustainable Living Festival in 2008- as a green celebrant having performed and acknowledged the need for a better way to conduct weddings without a cost to the environment.

Since 2008 Caroline has been a trainer for prospective celebrants at Victoria University for the Certificate 1V in Celebrancy. She has the highest of standards when training students in the art of performing ceremony.

Caroline loves animals of all kinds and so created a service for others who love animals. She cares for deceased pets by offering a funeral service for our much loved four legged soul mates. Transport, cremation and a unique funeral service - paws and reflect.
